So, a couple of weeks ago, I joined the local club track team along with a couple of my friends. Things are kinda tough but that's just 'cuz I'm lazy and stuff. It's fun though :D I scratched up my leg being an idiot on the hurdles, but that's no biggie. Tomorrow I'm goin' on a two-mile run! Wheeee~

So, today I learned that I could play guitar in my school's jazz band, which is starting next Thursday. I'm still kinda new to guitar, but I figured, hey, with eight years of experience in piano I'd be able to make it through.

So I decide to practice hardcore for the next few days.
So I'm at home, practicing hardcore, learning some new chords when BAM, the B string snaps on my hand and nearly gives me a nice large cut. No big deal, I thought. I could just replace it right?

It was my first time replacing a string, so I followed an online tutorial by a "professional guitar technician". As I'm following his instructions to the letter, the new (and only spare) string snaps at like two hundred miles an hour and nearly hits my foot. Now, I don't blame the guy who did the video, since every guitar is different and I'm a noob to all this. BUT he could have at least mentioned that we should strum the string while we wind it up, eh?

So I decide, no big deal, I can just head to the store tonight and buy some new strings. My dad gets home, my mom makes dinner, and I ask if we can go to the guitar store. (It's about 6:20 now).

But no, my mom says, "Play piano first."

So I do.

By the time I finish, it's past 7:00.

A call to the store reveals that the store closes at 7.

Great.

At the time of writing, It's about an hour off from the new year in my local time.

HUGE props to Robbie Maddison [link] for breaking the motorcycle jump record with an amazing 322 foot jump! The way he did it, you'd think it was easy.

In 2008 we'll see new album releases from a bunch of bands including Coldplay, Three Days Grace, and Bullet For My Valentine, among others. Can't wait! :D

Of course, keep pantherwitch4982 and her father in your minds [link]

My friends and I have prayed for you, pantherwitch, and will continue to :)

Best wishes to all of you as we enter 2008!
